One Thing I Can Never Live Without.

I cannot live without my iPod. Even if it's a bit out-dated already. All  the glory is now given to the iTouch. I want to have one of those, too but it's so expensive. Besides, I still have an iPod that I can listen to no matter where I go. It was given as a gift from my aunt in the States.

The main purpose of my iPod is to keep me entertained when I go on long trips. I usually go to the farm during weekends so it is used a lot. I don't like just sitting on the vehicle doing nothing. I would want to read in the car but then my mother would  scold me since it would ruin my eyesight. So, when my tita gave it to me, I was so happy. I also use my iPod to drown all the noise. I get distracted with my reading when there is noise. I could not understand what I'm reading when there is so much noise. I have also developed love for music since I got piano lessons, I listen to music everyday. Sometimes, I get lazy to open the computer or get the radio so my iPod saves the day again.

A Song-Filled Friday

The songs you listen to reflects your mood, they say. Everybody listens to music and has their own favourites. Here's what I've been listening to since this afternoon:

  1. Hakuna Matata - Jimmy Cliff/ Lebo M
  2. Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Anne Hathaway/ Jesse McCartney
  3. Latin Girl - Justin Bieber
  4. Pray - Justin Bieber
  5. Grenade - Bruno Mars
  6. The Time - Black Eyed Peas
  7. Only Girl - Rihanna
  8. Firework - Katy Perry
  9. Impossible - Shontelle
  10. Teenage Dream - Katy Perry
  11. Thinking of You - Katy Perry
  12. Whip My Hair - Willow Smith
  13. Canon on piano - Pachelbel
  14. Never Say Never - Justin Bieber ft. Jaden Smith
  15. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee
  16. Magic - B.O. B.
  17. U Smile - Justin Bieber
  18. Oh yeah - Jaiko ft. Snoop Dogg
  19. Graduation - Vitamin C (I know it shouldn't be part of the playlist yet but I REALLY like this song.)
  20. True Friends - Hannah Montana ( They say it's childish to listen to Hannah Montana but hey, this song has a really good meaning.)
  21. Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton
  22. All Day - Cody Simpson
  23. Don't Cry Your Heart Out - Cody Simpson
"It's not about how old a song is. It's more about how much the song means to you. "

Hakuna Matata--- it's our Problem-Free Philosophy

6 hours ago, my Christmas holiday officially started. But before that, I had to go through a strenuous and head-cracking week. There were so many mastery tests to study for, requirements to pass not to mention the exams. So many things to do in just a week. Oh, how I longed for this day to come. I'm problem free at last, at least for 2 weeks.

Since the holiday is just for 2 weeks, I figured I'd make the most out of it. It's almost Christmas and I'm so hyped to rip some Christmas wrappers open. You see, I love suspense. I still haven't opened the gifts my friends gave me today. I'll just open them on the midnight of December 24 so that I'd have something to be excited for. I sometimes get really curious, though. I just want to take a peek but then it'll lose the thrill in it so I'm trying to control myself. I have also started attending the Misa de Gallo at 4:30am since December 16. For the past years, I have not completed the 9 mornings but I'm trying this year. 2 down, 7 more to go. I can do this. I don't normally wake up at 4 in the morning and take a shower but I started to do it since Wednesday. I'd like to catch up on my reading, too. It's been 2 weeks since I had finished a book. I'll also spend a lot of time practising piano. I'll savour every moment of my freedom from school work. I have to sleep a lot since I have big eye-bags from staying up until 11pm studying. I'll stay away from stress for awhile. I need some time to relax after that Math exam that was about to cause the explosion of my brain. I wonder, where was I when God granted the talent for Math? Depressing. Life is totally unfair. I'm trying not to think about that now since I know that when I come back from the holidays, scores will be given out. Not to mention another suspense-filled Report-Card Day. Who loves them? Definitely NOT me.

There I go again with my pointless complaints. Not that it would change a thing. Life is still unfair no matter how you nag. Disheartening. Like I said I'm just going to make the most out of my 2-week vacation.

Advance Merry Christmas to you!

Hakuna Matata!
What a wonderful phrase!

Ain't no passing craze!
It means no worries,
for the rest of your days!

Jesselle is influential.

At the beginning of the 3rd Quarter Ms. Pasaporte, our adviser, decided to change our seat plan. I landed next to Jesselle Laserna. Studious as she is, I slowly got influenced. Usually, I talk during classes but when I transferred next to her, talking became minimal. Although, we laugh about things sometimes. When we have homework and she has free time, she usually does it ahead of time. Then one day, I just found myself doing our homework in CAF 2 days before the deadline. It's really uncommon for me to do that. I cram a lot, you see. I began to make progress in developing my study habits. Yesterday, I completed the whole lesson guide Mrs. Bernadas gave us for Social Studies. Jesselle is really good in Math and I suck at it. When there is this equation that's really hard and I don't know what to do, I ask for her or Yzabel's help. When I looked at my notebook a while ago, I realized that compared to my previous seat works, I improved. This morning, I volunteered to solve a problem on the board ( I rarely do this because like I said, I suck at Math) and I managed to figure out how to answer the problems on my own. I'm really proud of myself and I'm thankful for Jesselle, too.

My oh-so-influential seat mate,

Thank you for being an example I can follow. I might be such a pain sometimes for asking too much questions especially in Math where I suck so much. Pardon my slowness, please. You are an inspiration because you can balance fun and responsibility. I am also grateful for temporarily erasing 'crammer' on my forehead. I'll try to keep it that way. :)

                                                                                        Love lots,
                                                                                                    KEA Pallon :)

Do you want to have a seat mate like mine? :)

Beyond That Victory is Hard Work...and Fun

It's the time during the school year when the bond, teamwork and cooperation of a section is challenged. The Play Festival is one of the activities that students look forward to every year. And I can say that this year's play festival was a success not only for the winners but for EVERYONE. We managed to produce good and enjoyable plays that only proved us to be true children of the theatre.

For Year II-St. Anne, the section where I belong, had victory over both CAF and CAE plays. But this victory, we did not easily grab. We worked hard for it. I remember my classmates and I staying until 5:30pm everyday to practice. We also sacrificed relaxing for the weekend to meet-up and plan for the play. We even spent our recess and lunch breaks doing the props. Those who weren't part of the technical crew even helped with props. Although we sometimes have misunderstandings, we managed to work together and do what we were supposed to do properly. But, of course, we didn't just work, work and work. We also had some fun. I remember those afternoons when we would make jokes with each other, our bloopers are just memorable. It's kind of already stamped on my memory. I would just crack up when I remember some. I believe our bond became stronger and we know each other better. We became closer to each other.

During the play, we were definitely filled with tension and pressure especially since last year, St. Anne won grand slam. And we didn't want to destroy the legacy. During the awarding, Jesselle, Yzabel and I were holding each other's hands and shaking.

I couldn't just end this blog post without saying this: I admire Princess Dalayawon. She sacrificed some meetings of her French classes just so she could practice with us. In times when we do not cooperate, she keeps her cool. She is in control of her temper. She doesn't shout at us, instead she just keeps quiet when no one's listening to her and somehow, we would just know that she's quite mad already. :)

Play Fest 2010 is over but we had priceless moments to last a lifetime. It's definitely noteworthy. :)
I couldn't be any prouder about what we accomplished.
Congratulations, everyone! :)

"I had the time of my life and I've never felt this way before. And I swear this is true, and I owe it all to you."
Taken during one of the practices.
It's us having a little bit of FUN.

One of the BEST book series ever made! :)

It's 9:30pm and I'm here sitting in my bed making a new blog post. 5 minutes ago, I finished reading Rick Riordan's 'The Last Olympian' on the same spot. I must say, The Olympian Series is one of the best series I've ever read in my entire life. The series is primarily based in Greek Mythology which have not interested me so much before until I found out about this book series. 5 books compose the series: The Lightning Thief, the Sea of Monsters, the Titan's Curse, the Battle of the Labyrinth, and the Last Olympian. I have heard these is another one after 'Last Olympian' but I have not confirmed yet. =)

The protagonist,Percy Jackson, discovers that he is a son of the Sea God, Poseidon. He also discovers that the mythical beings of the greek mythology have always existed. Olympus, the home of the gods, is said to be located, presently, at the 600th floor the Empire State Building in New York City. Percy is frequently attacked by monsters because he is a child of the "Big Three": Zeus, the god of the sky, Poseidon, the god of the sea and the god of the Underworld, Hades who swore not to have any more children because their children would be too powerful and unpredictable. The other reason for the agreement is the propecy prophesied by the Oracle that a child of the "Big Three" was going to decide the fate of Olympus when he/she ages 16. The pact was made to prevent the prophecy from happening but then both Zeus and Poseidon breaks the pact and had children (Thalia Grace, demigod daughter of Zeus and Pery Jackson, son of Poseidon). Hades ironically has not broken the pact or so they thought. He had Bianca and Nico di Angelo who were born before the war but had been hidden by Hades in the Lotus Hotel Casino for 70 years to keep them safe because they were forbidden to live.

The Lightning Thief--1st book in the Olympian Series
The Sea of Monsters--2nd book in the Olympian Series
3rd book
4th book
5th book

I Believe in GRIMMIE!

Christina Victoria Grimmie
YouTube is one of my favourite sites next to twitter. When I get bored, I just open it and watch some videos, I usually use it to listen to music.

Months ago, I discovered this singer which had me hooked to her videos until now. I reckon she's got one of the most jaw-dropping voices I've ever heard in my life. Her name's Christina Grimmie. She's a 16-year old singer. She's got 54,938,192 views on YouTube and still counting. She loves singing, writing songs, playing piano, guitar and a little bit of drums. She plays the piano by ear She's also obsessed with the video game Zelda (don't ask me about video games because you aren't getting anything of that topic from me.) She's also proud of being a Christian. It was even posted on her youtube, "Jesus is my Saviour and I sing for Him." She idolizes Christina Aguilera, Stacie Orrico and James Hetfield.

I adore her. She one of my inspirations. I'm sure she's going to make it big, with an amazing talent like that. I'm willing to bet on it. Until that time comes, I hope she'll be posting more of her videos. I'm going to support her all the way because I know she's got something big to share to the world.

Check her out:

You are not alone.

Have you seen God? I haven't. But I felt him.

I was waiting for a jeepney to ride on this afternoon at about 5:30pm. It was already dark and I was worried there isn't any jeepney to ride on any more since every jeepney that passed by was full. What made the situation worse was that, it rained. I was waiting for already 10 minutes and I was worried sick. I was also getting wet. In my mind, I was praying. My thoughts were interrupted when a woman carrying an umbrella called me to share her umbrella so wouldn't get wet & sick. It turned out that she was going to ride the same jeepney I was going to ride on. It was so full that I almost got out & wait for another but then a man offered me his place and got out.

You would have thought those were little things and are not of great importance but hey, not everybody does that. For me, it was a sign that God was just there by my side watching me. We take him for granted sometimes. We even think he has abandoned us because he doesn't answer our prayers. I believe there is a time for everything and he's got a reason why he did not fulfill your wishes. Everything happens for a reason, so they say. Those people? I regard them as angels. I can truly say that there is a little piece of the Kingdom of heaven here on Earth. I have just proved that to myself. You know, we could also be angels to others and together we can make the Earth a place of God's glory.

Old Hobbies Never Die :]

I have been so busy these days that I didn't have time to read it anymore. You see, reading fiction books is my favorite past-time.
You might think I'm insane if I told you I've witnessed Harry Potter kill Voldemort but I can tell you I did. By reading books, I can be in different places and experience daytime even when in reality, I'm just reading a book under the covers with a flashlight on hand. Reading makes your imagination run wild and I believe imagining the scenes is the key in enjoying reading.

I guess it runs in the blood. My mom's family especially my tito and my grandfather are voracious readers. My bag wouldn't be complete without even just one book inside it. I usually spend my weekends in my mom's hometown and my mom sometimes ask me why I have a big bag even though I'm coming back the following day. The reason why I have a big bag because I bring 2 or 3 books even though I know I'm never going to have the time to read them. My life wouldn't just be complete without them.

I guess I can say that doing a challenging task and having a reward of reading a book when the day ends makes life worth living.

Sometimes, escaping reality for a moment is a reward you can do for yourself after a long and hard day.

ENJOY READING!! :)

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief

Every Saturday evening, we stay up until 1 or 2 am watching movies. Last week, we watched Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief. This movie is based from a book by Rick Riordan. I haven't read it yet but seeing the movie, I'll probably do. I just don't have that much free time these days. Anyway, this movie is something like Harry Potter. So, if you loved Harry Potter, you're sure to love this movie, too. The cast is nothing but perfect. Alexandra Daddario who plays Annabeth is really gorgeous. The first time I saw her, I was like, "Oh my." Same goes for Logan Lerman. He looks really cute, don't you think?

Some people says the movie was kind of different from what the book says, though. Nevertheless, you should watch it, if you haven't yet. I know most people have seen it. =)

A Little Bit More of Freedom

"How to deal with school?" If you are going to ask that question, I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm also struggling with high school. Although, I don't have a failing grade. Projects, homework, tests the next day, they haunt me to sleep. My mom says it's just a matter of time management but I guess I don't know the definition of that. I'd always cram & forget homework. Sometimes when it gets out-of-hand I break down. I don't like pressure, it's killing me. My mom & dad's got high standards and sometimes I just don't pass them.

I was actually surprised when they gave me a little bit of freedom. They leave me on my own now although they check on me sometimes. They don't browse through my quizzes that much anymore and they give me my allowance for the whole week. I guess I earned that through the years. I never had failing grades, I never go out of the house without their permission and I obey whatever they want me to do. But then maybe they know that I can set my own rules and limitations.

Sometimes, though, I think I missed the old times when I still don't have a little bit more of freedom.

A Little Change

I'm not good at any sport probably because my parents, uncles & aunts especially my grandparents are too protective of us or maybe I just don't have anyone to play with. I'm always stuck at home, you see. Although, I go to my mom's hometown to visit my grandparents every weekend. In my age, I don't know how to ride a bike and play volleyball. I know how to play badminton but not good enough.

Last weekend when I visited my hometown, my uncle brought me to a firing range. I believe it was a contest. It was so exhilarating to watch that I wanted to try it but I was not permitted to. On Sunday, I went to a motocross event. I felt he same excitement but I didn't want to learn it this time. It's scary watching the motorcycles fly up and land. Some even had accidents. It's scary but awesome to watch.

After watching all those events, I got myself thinking about sports. I'm worst at it and I told myself I'd do something about it. I have to learn a sport and focus on it so I may also have that urge to go out do something physical. I always read and open the Net. It's time to make a little change.

EXPENDABLES :)

My uncle is a fan of action movies and every weekend he lets us watch them. The latest one we watched was Expendables. It has an all-star cast: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Swarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Terry Crews & Steve Austin. What would you expect from these actors? Of course, a thrilling action movie. This movie basically about a group of mercenaries who heads to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. I'm not telling you more because you ought to grab a copy and watch this movie. But don't you think it could've been better if Steven Segal was in the picture? I've watched some of his movies and I salute him. :)

I enjoyed this movie a lot that I that I researched more about it. According to a site, Sylvester Stallone, who is also the producer of this movie, is thinking about doing a sequel to it. He tweeted that he is thinking about some new dangerous places to shoot the movie & is trying to talk Bruce Willis into playing the villain. I really wish there is going to be a sequel. I can't wait for the next one!

Free Expression on Twitter :)

Twitter is a site where I can express myself well. I feel free posting anything although I always remember not to post important details about myself. It's my favorite site. At first I have to admit that I had a hard time understanding how the site works. I even thought it's boring just what some people think but when you get the hang of it, it's never going to be boring for you anymore. I've been using it for a year now and I tweet everyday, violating my own rules. It's addicting ,you see. I check it more often than my facebook account. Another reason why I love twitter is that you know that the celebrities using it are legit. You can guarantee because of the verified account sign. I've met a lot of awesome people from all over the world, too. Twitter has also been a source that can help me on school activities. Yes, it's true. I have already tried it myself. Once, we were given the homework of interviewing a Chinese-Filipino about some practices and culture. Since I could not find a person whom I could interview personally, I asked help from Marion, my best friend. She used twitter to find a person and then I made friends with my interviewee and asked all the questions to be asked through Direct Message on twitter. Twitter updates you on everything, too. How? You can follow Yahoo! News, CNN and others then they tweet about what's happening in the world right now.

I believe it's not about the followers it's about freely exercising the right to express your feelings and ideas and making new friends. :)

Never Say Never :P

Last week,we had exams which had almost driven me crazy. Yeah, it's done now but that doesn't mean that I can have my good time. Card Day is approaching and I've got to pray that I don't fail because if I do, my parents will kill me. Not only that, projects are attacking me. Deadlines are haunting me. Sometimes, I wonder how I can get through highschool. Our schedule is very hectic. Last night, I broke down. I cried because I don't know how to do my project in CAF. It's not on my field of expertise. Yes, I cry about simple things like that but I don't give up easily. What did I do then? I stayed up until 11pm doing that project. My dad & mom says crying is a sign of weakness but I believe that crying sometimes help you feel lighter. And when you feel lighter, you are able to think straight about what you have to do.

Nothing is impossible for good followers of God. If there's a will, there's a way. Never say never.
Cry yourself a river and get over it. :)

Angels in Blue

It's really sad how we can take things for granted. When it's there, we don't even appreciate it. But when it's gone we recognize their importance.

How will we forget the big smile they give us when we go in and out of the school every morning and afternoon? Who will now hold an umbrella for us until we get to our cars or get a taxi when it's raining? And when they helped us carry our big, heavy bags? The 'Blue Guards' have been there since I started my first day on Assumption. They've been part of our day to day life and now they're leaving. I'll miss seeing you every day, Manongs! Thank you for being part of us in your own simple ways. :D

First Post ;)

I know this has been assigned weeks ago or even a month ago but I just made my 1st post. I just made may blog a few days ago, you see. Anyway, I really think it's a good idea Mr. Gerano thought of requiring a blog for our project. This way, we are able to express ourselves more to others. Not only that, we are also capable of enhancing our skills in writing and make more friends!

Just a little advice, make it natural. Express the true YOU! :)
